Artwork Title: Identity

Target Audience: Teenagers

Artist Statement:

IDENTITY is lacking in most of us today. We often influenced and followed someone else’s styles, trends and values often seen through mass media and also people around us. But it’s nothing bad to express your own IDENTITY. That’s how you’re raised and you should accept, embrace and appreciate it.

Artwork Treatment:

I designed the letters by scattering it to all side of the artwork representing influences around us. The scattered letters consist of the 5 type’s families which are Old Style, Modern, Slab Serif, Sans Serif and Decorative.

I especially choose Script typeface to represent the IDENTITY because Script are classic, soft and inviting fonts that give special feelings to the artwork compared to other typeface.

The color I choose is simple which is black, white and grey. Grey as background to emphasize the white and black color I used for the fonts. I play around with white and black. White usually means pure and good but I made it as the bad influence color while black as the main color because people tend to be attracted more to a darker shade of color.
